It´s good to do some windowshop, but it´s better to go into an art exhibition.
Yesterday, like I told you in
FACEBOOK and
TWITTER, I attend to great and inspiring art exhibition of a brazilian artist:
Vic Muniz.
He looks at everyday things and sees new possibilities and new ways of representing and interpreting the world.
In his work, non-traditional art materials, such as chocolate sauce, peanut butter, caviar and diamonds, are used to recreate iconographic images of photography and painting. The results are surprising, appearing both strange and familiar.
Various levels of comprehension are at the play in his work. At the first glance, we see a photograph. Then, beyond the photograph, we perceive a complete philosophical and sensory proposition behind each image, full of double meanings.

TWITTER, visitei uma exposição de arte do artista brasileiro:
Vic Muniz.
Este autor olha para coisas quotidianas e, com elas, recria novas possibilidades de apresentar e perceber o mundo.
Nas suas obras, materiais inusitados para a arte, como calda de chocolate, pasta de amendoim, caviar e diamantes, são utilizados para recriar grandes ícones da fotografia e da pintura.
O resultado são imagens surpreendentes, que nos parecem, ao mesmo tempo, familiares e estranhas.
Vic Muniz, trabalha em vários níveis de compreensão: num primeiro momento, o que vemos é uma fotografia. Depois, vemos além dela todo o pensamento filosófico por detrás de cada imagem, repleta de duplos sentidos.
